The wart was located almost on the tip of my middle finger, right hand. I was always aware of it; whenever I'd write or type, the wart would remind me of its presence by its very intense pulse and it would sting sometimes.
In the beginning I thought it was just a corn, so I tried removing it with tweezers and then with salicylic acid, but these methods didn't work, and they only seemed to make the wart stronger and bigger. I let it go for half a year until I was resolute to get it removed. I bought one of those wart removal nitrogen freezers, but it only killed the wart superficially, then it came back. I even considered surgery just before I went online and did a search for "wart removal home remedies". I read a lot of articles and came to the conclusion that the number 1 treatment for warts was ACV, so I gave it a try.
The website I consulted the most, and followed the instructions of one of the people commenting, was:
http://www.apple-cider-vinegar-benefits.com/removal-of-warts-using-apple-cider-vinegar.html
especially Jacque from Michigan, United States, posted on June 13, 2011:
1) I would wash and dry my hands thoroughly every night. Make sure the wart is good and dry before continuing...
2) After that I dipped a Q-tip into the ACV and cut off the tip of it, applying it directly to the wart.
3) I then put Vaseline around the wart to protect the good skin. (This is key- as the vinegar can really dry out and hurt the good skin around the wart.)
4) Then I applied a band-aid to my thumb to hold the cotton on the wart.
5) I wore it overnight, then removed it every morning and showered and went about my day as usual. (This is important- letting it air/dry out every day helps the process in my experience. I WOULD NOT recommend wearing the ACV all the time- 24 hours a day. The wart needs to air out every day...)
I began the treatment in the first week of june 2011. I followed these instructions for about 5 days.
Unfortunately I didn't take pictures of my wart pre-treatment, but the lesion looked pretty much like the standard description: a grey-blackish, small (2 mm diameter) cauliflower shaped circle.
So, on day 5, because the pain was so intense at night, I decided to soothe the surrounding healthy skin with a piece of freshly cut aloe vera, with the transparent gel of the plant facing the wart and covered it with cotton instead of a band-aid or duct tape. I found these two to be very hard on tender flesh.
At day, as the wart had become black, I'd put the ACV cotton ball on it for as long as I could stand it, then let it rest. Then with the tiny needle of an insulin syringe I removed the exterior of the wart, which inmediately fell off (you need to take the whole black stuff with tweezers, that's the wart). In its place was a big crater and the flesh was really, really tender and sensitive:
Wart crater |
Just to make sure that the wart would be truly gone, I'd put a drop of ACV on it and let it dry. No covering. I'd only cover it with a band-aid to prevent the open wound from becoming infected. The skin was so sensitive by this point that I decided to give it a rest.
Two-three weeks passed and the crater was covered by a yellowish crust. I was worried that this crust was covering the wart (it had made me paranoid by this point), but this morning the whole thing fell off, and all I found was pretty, healthy, pink skin!
One month later: no wart :) |
It wasn't an easy method, but it worked for my stubborn little wart. I would recommend this to anyone who's willing to show a little patience and discipline to get rid of nasty evil warts!
I'm beginning this process myself, just passed day one. The wart is on the top of my middle finger.
ReplyDeleteThe thing that's freaking me out the most is the picking, or removal of the wart after its turned black!
It just seems so 'connected' to my finger, kinda rubbery and sensitive. I can't for the life of me imagine doing anything to it other than the acv!
Does it dry out, become like a scab, something you actually want to pick?! Coz that would be ok... Maybe it will fall off on its own??
Aggghhh!
I have to warts for one year and i also noticed that if i cut it or try to remove somehow it gest bigger adn stronger. i am on the 3rd day of using vinegar and it has already turned black. cannot wait when it goes completely!!
ReplyDeleteACV WORKS! I tried everything, and I mean it. I had loads of warts on my hards for nearly 2 years and acv worked very quickly. Just apply once or twice a day and keep applying a few days after the scabs fall off (LET THEM FALL OFF, don’t rip them off and keep applying until they fall off.) Prepare to face the pain, it can get bad.
ReplyDeleteTHIS WORKS! Do it!!
Im trying this now. Im curious to the pain throughout the night. The throbbing now is almost unbearable.
ReplyDeleteCoconut oil. I switched my cooking oil to coconut oil, because it seemed easier on my digestion than olive oil. After I switched, the wart on my hand (which I had been periodically digging out of my hand) stopped growing. About a month later, the warts on the bottom of my foot (that I have had for years) started to itch. Soon I noticed they were going away, as well. As of now, there is nothing but a small pink scar on my hand, and very little of what was once a cluster of over a dozen warts on the bottom of my foot. A few smaller ones have disappeared, as well. It has been months of course, (5, 6?) but if you are not impatient, and would like a way to remove them without pain, use coconut oil :-) consume 1-3 Tbsp a day. If you cook with oil, switch to coconut oil, and use it liberally! The refined coconut oil is what I use, I prefer it because there is no coconut flavor. But I have heard the unrefined extra virgin oil has more health benefits. I'm lazy but I know you can also apply it directly to the wart, something like twice a day for a few months.

ReplyDeleteI am going to try this. It just so happens that I have ACV at home - the most natural ones, "Made in Spain". I really hope it works. I've had a wart on the side of the top of my right thumb for two years. My favourite things is picking it... I know that sounds gross but I hate looking down at it. So, I "think" that picking it will make it go away. WRONG. WRONG. WRONG.
ReplyDeleteI really hope this is the answer to my prayers. Wish me luck!
I am definitely going to have to give this a shot. The only thing I'm really worried about if it does get on any of the good skin how bad it's going to hurt haha. I'm a sucker when it comes to pain :P I'll be sure to put on Vaseline in order to prevent that from happening! I've tried the so called duct-tape method without any success. So if this doesn't go too great I may have to try another alternative I've stumbled upon and looks like a great route to take especially with it being a naturally occurring wart removal process that is painless! Wish me the best of luck in this apple cider vinegar idea!
ReplyDeleteI did this and I have to say yes it worked.
ReplyDeleteBlew my mind that something so home remedy could actually be effective but wished I had seeen this before I had spent big$$ at the pharmacy.
Also......drinking organic apple cider vinegar drinks works as well.....weird but killed another wart which was the same as the one mentioned earlier.
